Alison Ellis is a floral designer based in Jericho, Vermont. She invited me into her studio to talk about how she began as a florist and the experience of working near home. Alison's attention to detail coupled with her fun and spirited personality sets her apart as a designer.
Filmed with Canon 5d Mark ii, Canon 7D, 35mmL, 50mmL, 85mmL lenses.

Over Yonder Cay
OVER YONDER CAY is a privately-owned island paradise situated in the heart of the Bahamas’ storied Exuma chain. Previously home to a quaint fishing outpost, the 70-acre island has been tastefully transformed into a dramatic showplace for stunning architectural design and cutting-edge green energy technology.

Nevada to Arizona
In February 2012, Kelly and I headed to Las Vegas, NV, for WPPI. During our week we needed a change of scenery, so we drove to the Grand Canyon for a day/night. This is a simple montage of footage we shot during that getaway.
Long live the desert.

Nevada to Arizona
Simple forms are a common theme in my work. I am particularly drawn to the circle, and regard it as a symbol of eternity, oneness, completion, and GOD's constant love.
The Hay Circle was made out of dead grass on Mount Tamalpais in California, in March of 2008.
Movements In White
'Movements In White' was an early film I shot with a borrowed Sony DSR-PD170 on a cold Vermont winter morning in 2008. It was my first attempt at using film to explore/work with a natural process (melting snow with hot coals, in this case) . I recorded the musical score immediately after.
